Christmas is the celebration of God’s ultimate gift: the birth of Jesus, the Christ child. The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love, generosity, and goodness. It instils in our hearts a desire to bring joy to other people. We feel a spirit of giving and gratitude for what we have received. Giving, not getting, brings the full joy of Christmas. We reach out in love to help those less fortunate. Our hearts are softened, enemies forgiven, friends remembered, and God obeyed. It is a time to reflect on the good times we have shared, and the challenges we have overcome, and to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us on our life’s journey. It’s a call to action to spread love and kindness without any bias or expectation of something in return. ‘The good you do for others is the good you do yourself.’
