Preamble

The school was founded in 1982, in the memory of Late Sir Padampat and is named after him as Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre. It is located at Kamla Nagar, Kanpur. Sir Padampat was not only an eminent industrialist but also a renowned educationist and a great philanthropist. His dream was to establish a unique system of education in the metropolitan city of Kanpur, where there was a dearth of good public schools. The academic curriculum and various types of activities are so designed as to help in the attainment of the objective of the school.

S.P.S.E.C. RULES

The aim of the school is to inculcate the concept of effective ethical discipline in the students for an all-round development. In order to achieve this, students must abide by the rules and regulations of the school as given under:

  1. The student’s personal record should be correctly and completely filled in duplicate. It is essential for the parents to enter their specimen signatures in the aforesaid form.

  2. The school office should be informed in writing about any change of address or telephone numbers.

  3. The parents are required to ensure that their child comes to school in proper uniform. It is compulsory for the students to wear I-card everyday.

  4. The parents must guide their ward to maintain the record of worksheets and school circulars.

  5. Information regarding availing of leave must be maintained in the leave record. Student with less than 75% attendance will not be allowed to sit for the Final Examination.

  6. Absence without proper written information for more that four consecutive weeks might lead to striking of the name of the student from the school rolls. Re-admission may be granted only on payment of re-admission charges. One month’s notice for withdrawal of any facility/admission during the session is essential.

  7. Parent-Teacher Meetings play a vital role in monitoring the progress of your child. Please attend the scheduled Parent-Teacher Meetings.

  8. Parent are requested to regularly monitor the performance of their child in class tests, unit tests as well as to ensure the submission of projects and assignments given to the students.

  9. It may not be possible to arrange special meetings of the parents with the teachers during the school hours.

  10. A student causing willful damage to school property will be asked to pay the cost of the property and a fine too. Repetition of such an act may lead to expulsion as well.

  11. Each student should be neatly dressed. The school uniform should be worn on all working days and for all school functions. Students who are not properly dressed or not in uniform will be marked in the uniform defaulters record. Use of hair gel is not allowed.

  12. All boys (except Sikhs) must keep their hair short. Girls must tie their hair neatly with a specified black band. Girls with long hair must make two plaits.

  13. The students are expected to converse only in English while he/she is in the school premises. No student is allowed to use any language other than English in the school campus.

  14. Students are required to behave politely at all times and should not use indecent language or, indulge in fights and quarrels with others in the school. Any behaviour likely to hurt others in the matter of language, religion, caste or community is strictly prohibited. At the same time, vulgarity in talk and behaviour must be strictly avoided. Involvement in the above may lead to expulsion.

  15. Loitering aimlessly in corridors, running about or whistling is strictly prohibited. Students should regard the school as his/her second home and do everything possible to keep the classroom and the school premises neat and pleasing to the eye. All waste paper and other discardable material should be thrown in the dustbin.

  16. The students must abide by the pledge of being the true sportsman and strive to attain excellence in whatever activity he/she participates in.
  17. Private tuitions are not encouraged. Our teachers are not allowed to give private tuitions to our pupils. Anyone who approaches the school teachers for tuitions will do so at his/her own risk and be prepared for the consequences.
  18. Early departure will be granted only in the case of emergency at the discretion of the Principal.

  19. Children are not allowed to bring mobile phones/electronic gadgets to school. Mobile phones found with children, will be confiscated and will not be returned back.

  20. Irregular attendance, constant negligence of work, disobedience to teachers, habitual inattentiveness in class, obscenity in word or deed, wilful and repeated breach of the school regulations individually or collectively will lead a pupil to serious punishment or expulsion.

  21. Parents must also ensure that their ward(s) should not involve themselves with any anti-social elements or in any anti-social activity during their tenure in school. It is in their own interest and in the interest of the institution that they refrain from any in-disciplinary behaviour/misconduct/illegal activity or else they are liable to be suspended or face a more severe action.

Code of Conduct

The following acts and conduct on the part of the students will be considered as misconduct.

  1. Misbehaviour towards teachers or any other employee of the school.
  2. Intentional disturbance of classes.
  3. Absence from classes without the permission of the Principal / Vice Principal / Teacher.
  4. Bullying/Intimidating others.
  5. Misbehaviour towards girl-students.
  6. Damaging/disfiguring school property.
  7. Propagating communal / caste feeling amongst students.
  8. Indulging in physical violence in any manner in school.
  9. Disobeying orders of the Principal/Teacher.
  10. Theft/Pilferage of school’s property.
  11. Indulging in acts of moral turpitude.
  12. Body tattoos and piercing.
  13. Colouring of hair.

Guidance and Counselling Cell

The School believes in providing equal opportunity to each child to develop his/her potential. Children in today’s modern and fast changing world face problems which are far more complex than before. S.P.S.E.C. is aware of the stress which the child of today undergoes and so the school has set up a guidance and counselling centre. It helps them to cope with their growing problems and facilitates a balanced growth.

The development needs of the children and especially of the adolescents are anticipated and corrective steps are undertaken to help the child experience smooth transition from one stage to another without much stress and strain in order to ensure a healthy and all round development which includes physical, psychological, educational, moral and social aspects.
